Food Lion Scholarship Program
To benefit the schoolchildren of Cabarrus County

The Scholarship
Food Lion is generously providing funding to Cabarrus County schools for students to attend programs at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. The Food Lion Scholarship Program will cover each student’s ticket to one program and provide a transportation subsidy of $150 for each bus.

Morehead's broad range of educational programming enables elementary, middle school and high school teachers in Cabarrus County to apply for the scholarship.

Programming
Morehead Planetarium and Science Center offers planetarium shows, Discovery classes, Science LIVE! demonstrations, exhibits and movies that will capture your students’ imaginations and illustrate key science concepts. To learn more about Morehead's range of programming, please visit our Now Showing page and follow the links.

To apply, click on the link to the online application form. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis during the school year. You will be contacted within two weeks about the status of your application.

Appreciation
This scholarship program would not be possible without the generous support of the Food Lion Scholarship Program. Gifts such as this make it possible for Morehead Planetarium and Science Center to bring science education to North Carolina children who might not otherwise have this opportunity. To ensure the continuation of this wonderful program, please take a moment to have your class write a thank you letter to The Food Lion Charitable Trust at the following address.
