Education: Senior, Chemistry Major, Mathematics and Biology Double Minor
Hometown: Chapel Hill, NC
Experience with Children: Beginning in high school, I worked as a swim coach for 4 years at the Farm. Aside from my years coaching volleyball for fun, I was the JV Volleyball coach at Phillips Middle School for a year. I’m currently a coach for Carrboro High School’s ultimate frisbee team.
Goals for School Year and Career: I intend to graduate this spring with a degree in Chemistry and minors in Biology and Mathematics. After graduation, I hope to spend a year or two working in a lab or science education setting before eventually applying for and attending graduate school.
Hobbies/Fun Facts: I’m the captain of the women’s Ultimate Frisbee team here at UNC; last summer I had the chance to travel to Germany to compete in an international tournament with the USA Juniors team. When I’m not in school, playing, or coaching ultimate, you can find me cooking, reading, or just enjoying the great outdoors.
Why did you choose to work at Morehead?: I’ve missed working with kids, and I think that science education is an incredibly important aspect of childhood education.
