Tori James

Hometown: Gastonia, NC

Experience with Children: I was an afterschool care teacher, summer camp counselor, cheerleading instructor, and gymnastics instructor at Gymnastics World. I nannied children ages 2-12 for five years. I tutor with Project Literacy and Helping Youth by Providing Enrichment. I also volunteer with my church youth program.

Goals for Summer and Career: I want to help students explore the world of science while having fun and meeting lots of new people. I want to pursue a career in education policy. I hope to teach for a couple of years and then get a PhD in Education Policy in hopes of bettering the education experience of North Carolina students.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I enjoy reading and shopping.

Why did you choose to work at Morehead? I love working with youth; it’s a passion I've always had and I get joy from seeing the bright and smiling faces of kids. I want to pursue an career in education so I really want to get the experience of working with kids while teaching them lessons about science that will be both fun and informative.
