Lauren Mickey

Hometown: Winston-Salem, NC

Experience with Children: I've loved working with kids throughout high school and my time at Carolina. I worked in a day care and tutored middle schoolers my junior and senior years of high school and I also did a lot of babysitting. At Carolina I've spent my time volunteering with kids in the hospital and last summer I was a camp counselor at MDA Camp.

Goals for Summer and Career: This summer, besides having a blast at camp, I want to take some classes and make sure I have time tor ead a lot of good books! I'm studying to hopefully become a pediatric oncologist and will be applying to medical school this summer. I'm also going to be tutoring and volunteering whenever I can!

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I like spending my free time haning out with my friends, doing Zumba, reading, and cheering for the Heels!

Why did you choose to work at Morehead? I love science and I love camp so Morehead seemed like the perfect way to get to be around both all summer. I hope everyone at camp is going to learn a lot and have a lot of fun doing it!
