Ashley McClelland

Hometown: Charlotte, NC

Experience with Children: I have been babysitting for many neighborhood families since middle school and began nannying during the summer and school breaks when I started college! I also worked as a dance teacher for kids ages 3-11 for 2 years in Singapore!

Goals for Summer and Career: I’m so excited to be a part of the Morehead staff this summer! We will have a wonderful time full of learning, adventure and new friends! After graduation, I hope to participate in the Teach For America program for a few years before returning to school to get my Masters of Education and becoming a high school science teacher!

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I love to hike, dance, run, travel, do photography and play outside with my yellow lab, Charlie! I also adore hedgehogs and hope to get one in the fall! Fun Fact: I lived overseas in Singapore for 2 years during high school

Why did you choose to work at Morehead? I attended a science camp much like those offered at Morehead when I was a kid and it inspired me to pursue my passion for science. I look forward to helping other kids discover their love for science this summer!
