PLANETS Professional Development
for K-6 Teachers

PLANETS workshops have, as their centerpiece, North Carolina's first fulldome digital video portable planetarium. This is an exciting, inspiring educational environment for teachers and their students, too! Workshop activities are designed to help teachers increase and reinforce their potential and enthusiasm for teaching space science.

The activities include unique NASA-themed teaching tools and demonstrate effective ways to link STEM content to other areas of the elementary school curriculum, especially language arts and social studies.

Each teacher who completes the PLANETS workshop receives a resource kit with materials to conduct astronomy-related activities in the classroom. Each teacher will receive 1.0 CEU credit for completing the workshop. Lunch and snacks are included. Registration fee is only $25!

Please check this website in spring 2011 for information on registering for a PLANETS professional development workshop available during the upcoming summer.
